Ultimate Strengthening Exercises For Your Legs

A well-toned upper body with skinny legs is often a cause of embarrassment in the fitness domain. A lot of people ignore their legs while focusing on developing their chest and biceps. Make sure you don’t do the same mistake!

Ensure that your legs get enough exercise. The work-outs featured below are from popular trainer Harley Pasternak.Harley is the author of acclaimed fitness books such as 5-Factor Fitness, 5-Factor World Diet and The Body Reset Diet, among others. He is behind some of the best bodies in Hollywood. Perform his toning exercises below to give your legs a thorough work-out.

1) The Skater’s Lunge: Keep your feet shoulder-width apart. Take a big step backwards with your left leg. Cross it diagonally behind your right leg. Stretch out your right arm out to the side and swing your left one across the hips. Hop 2 feet towards your left and repeat the whole procedure on the opposite side. Do 3 sets of 10 reps each.

2) Stiff-Leg Dead Lift: Keep your feet shoulder-width apart. Bend your knees slightly. Hold a 5-pound dumbbell in both your hands. Make sure your palms are facing the front of your thighs. Hold your head up and push your shoulders back. Inhale and push your hips back by putting weight on your heels. Lower your torso as you slide down the weights towards your thighs. Raise yourself slowly to the starting position. Do 3 sets of 10 reps each.

3) Two-Thirds Jump Squat: Keep your feet shoulder-width apart. Squat down but only 2/3rd of the way down. Jump up with your arms stretched towards the ceiling. Return to the squatting position when you land. Do 3 sets of 10 reps each.

4) Single- Leg Prone Curl: Bend your elbows and lie face down. Support yourself on your forearms. Keep the laces of the left shoe on top of your right heel. Bend your knees and use your right leg to lift the left leg towards your butt, with the sole of feet pointing in an upwards then lower direction. Keep your lower abs tight to protect your back from any damage. Do 3 sets of 10 reps for each leg.
